"It isn't one of those exhaustive and trenchant documentaries that plumbs the depths of a pop-cultural phenomenon. Yet, it contains sights as strange as anything in Lucas' imagination. ... Thankfully, the filmmakers make only modest attempts to convince us that any of this should be taken seriously. No harm seems to be done, and some folks actually are buoyed by their obsessions. If you're a Trekkie, you'll probably watch with committed fascination. If not, you may find yourself thinking that most of the people you're seeing have taken leave of their senses...."
