Dear Friends,
Why are we unique? Why would we look good in the documentary? Simply because Star Trek is not shown on any of the Hungarian television networks, yet a small group of fans decided to form the first (and still the only) club in early 1993. This club is currently still working and gathers more fans of Star Trek each year. Our club is small, compared to any other of it's kind - but it's no wonder. Hungary is not treating well the fans of Star Trek.
We already had ten editions of our two-monthly fanzine (Trekker), and had 9 small conventions uptil now. Because Star Trek is not widely known here - we don't get such big guests as some of the other West-European or American clubs. To be honest we don't get any guests. But then again, these conventions are the only ones in the world, which are fan-organized. Without Trek, it's hard to do Trek, or even get Trek. Every episode we get, has an adventurous journey behind it. And yet, we do have our own InterNet HomePage too, containing the FIRST AND ONLY DENISE CROSBY HOMEPAGE.
So, why should we be in the documentary? Because we are the real hardcore fans. We cannot buy any magazines, T-shirts, etc... Because there aren't any. We make our own. We design ships, we do T-shirts, newspapers, stickers, cons, you name it.
Our next con will be in September in our nations capital, Budapest.
