Well I just got back from seeing "Trekkies" today. I didn't think I was going to be able to see it! My city wasn't on the list theat was posted a couple weeks ago, but lo and behold, there it was! It's only showing matinees (1:55 pm) on Fri/Sat/Sun/Tues. (Just FYI, adult movie prices here in Victoria, BC, Canada are $6.50 Cdn for matinees, $8.75 Cdn for evenings, and $5.00 Cdn for Tuesdays. To convert that to US funds, divide by 1.5). There were about 8 people in the screening I saw

I enjoyed it! In the film there were some fans that were very, very, VERY involved with Star Trek in their daily life, and others who merely have a passionate hobby. There were some very funny moments, like the Klingons in McDonalds (Hmm, do you get fries with McGakh? GRIN), the guy in Capt. Pike's chair (the Radio Shack employee looked a little freaked out, didn't he!?), and a whole lot more. I loved the Trek-BBQ scene, where one of them says "and this year we even had a GIRL come!" Hehehe very stereotypical stuff. The comedians at the end of the film was a great way to end! And Gabe, I thought you were portrayed very well! A devoted fan who balances his Trek interest in his life well, I could identify with you a lot. (of _COURSE_ that's what those Data uniforms mean, who DOESN'T know that?? GRIN)

Overall a neat look at Trek's devotees, I'd recommend it to Trek fans definitely.
